Any other Hudson enthusiasts intend on being at the Hot Rod Reunion at Bowling Green Ky this weekend?

In the event nothing catastrophic happens, we'll be there with the '49 Super Six coupe.

This should be a good show. I started and ran the program when I worked for NHRA. It moved to Columbus last year but this year, back in Bowling Green at Beech Bend Raceway where it belongs, it should be outstanding.
  • I reckon we're going to be there, hope to see you SamJ.
  • I had a good time, but was the only Hudson there and was in the Rat Rod category.

Neither me or my Dad were able to see any of the racing due to the numerous conversations, visitors, and Hudson admirers stopping by to talk.

Some orphan racers from the Bean Blossom drags stopped by to perpetuate the leged of PaceRacer50!

A group of young men from Paducah Kentucky stopped by, all owning Hudsons with various plans. Most of them were interested in keeping the Big Hudson Six alive under the hood of thier Hudsons. So, you know I talked to them as long as they'd stay.

Late in the day, some fellas came by who used to race Hudsons on the dirt tracks of East TN/West NC. A '49 coupe just like mine named "Dirt Dobber". I could have listened to their stories and old "tricks of the trade" all day long. About the only reason they left was because the sun was going down.

The biggest surprize was a fella who stopped by about mid-day wanting to see the only Hudson at the show because of his Dad's affiliation with the HET. I asked him who his Dad was, and he said probably the only turbo-charged Hudson the world belonged to his Dad. I told this fella his Dad's name was Rudy Bennet before he could finish his sentence. I spent a long while with Randy Bennet, Rudy's son. Nice guy with a fantastic "driver" AMC. AMC to the core!

If I saw you at the show SamJ - I didn't get your name (I'm bad about that!).

Dang good day! Don't think your Hudson has to be perfect to have a good time with it. Get it running and get out there "amongst them".

    Rudy,

I really enjoyed visiting with Randy and Chip, car guys to the core.

Those Torqe-Thrust D's look good on your Super 6! I'd appreciate your backspacing measurements and lug-stud info on those. I know an old black Super 6 that might improve its looks with some of those.
