Some kind of Oil Refining tank rolled off a transport truck and onto the top of this Hudson....

The owner drove the car home! Really!

Really!!!! I can think of better ways to customise a Hudson - not faster, but better.

The only crisis back then was gas was around .15-.20 cents a gallon
  • Amazing. Another Hudson gives up its life to save the driver.

And all without air bags. I can't believe how many people on this forum (you and Aaron D for starters) walked away from serious accidents while driving a Hudson.

America's safest car then and now! Less of a car sure wouldn' have survived that run in with the oil tank!
  • Was that a Coupe, or a Hollywood ? Hard to tell, but the back window frames don't look quite right for a Coupe. "52 -- or '53 ?

    Just curious.

Looked like a brougham (or 2-door sedan) to me. Good candidate for a pick-up after the accident. Can you imagine what it must have looked like to watch this guy drive it home? Probably caused 3 more accidents on the way!!
