Would like to see some photos of an original or restored car. Also need some parts, I'm not sure what exactly, but I know it's only about 80% there. My Dad just got the car a few days ago so he's still doing an inventory of parts. ...Anyone have anything?

Eldone Hostetler and Jim DiGorgio both have restored ones I think. Looks like you got something there with some potential.

Roy Marks has one. He may have some extra parts.

Tom Brintnall in MA has one he's restoring; Jim DiGiorgio bought his restored.

Email me and I'll send you contact info on Jim and Tom.

  • Jim DiGiorgio has sold his and is now in a private collection in Michigan. My 27 Boattail was at Auburn last year and will be at the National again this year. It is pretty much an original car and would be a good example to get accurate info from. I have seen several other "restored" examples that are far from correct. Jim's was quite correct except paint & plating, that stuff is only cosmetic.

If you can not make the National meet, I can send pic's. But I think seeing it in real life makes a difference. Email me @ HETsuper6esx@comcast.net(drop the HET).

I'll be there. I should probably save my gas money and go to the National next year, but I'm crazy enough to think that I can make it to both! We will see. But, I'll make this year for sure. I know my Dad is going to want to make this car all original, did you see anything that didn't look right?

By the way, I would love to have any pictures that you could give me.:)
  • I don't see anything really wrong with the car, other than what is not there. Do you have the rest of the parts ? The good thing is that most of what I don't see is the same as any 27 Essex. Only tha body & rear fenders are Boat tail only. Do you have the top irons ? I loaned mine to a friend from Holland to have a set made. Oak Bows in Chambersburg, Pa. are the ones who made the irons & bows/front header off of mine.

Any recent news on this project? By the way, was this car from the Bay Area?
