Hi,

I need a crankshaft for my '50 Pacemaker. It's a 232 6-cyl with overdrive. Please e-mail me if you have one.

Thanks!

  • Call 570-798-0390 ask for Dave. He definately has one. He's in Pa. Has over 60 Hudson parts cars.

    Scott,

Where are you located? My dad had a few complete 232's in western NY.

  • I would look upon this as an opportunity to make some changes.

308 crank in a 232 block, some 262 pistons with a .064" shave off the compression height.

You'd have a snappy 271 CID Hudson under the bonnet.

  • Thanks all! I'll definitely give Dave a call. I'm in NW Indiana.

I am considering making some changes while it's all out. It will most likely depend on my finances. I just sold my Mazda Miata to have some extra scratch for the old cars. The Hudson is going to get most of it.

I told my grandfather (the Hudson used to be his) that I was "trading up" when I sold the Miata and picked up the Hudson. :)

    Thanks again!

Did a machine shop tell you its worn too far to regrind or cant they get bearings. Usually cranks will clean up by .o30 unless siezed or threw a rod...

You could get some 262 pistons and use a 262 crank. That would give you a useful increase in displacement and compression. I'm guessing that 262 cranks are more plentiful than 232 cranks.

Where have you been hiding? Nice to see your back amongst us, Mr Ed.

Thanks for the bon mots, Mark! I've been preoccupied with working on my house and dealing with some unexpected health issues, so I'm mostly just lurking on the forum. Are you coming to the national? My uncle and I are driving the Hornet.
