Yeah, I noticed that too, right off !!
The right wheels and tires would set the car off handsomely !!
I personally don't like the yellow rims either, --- to me, they somehow "wash-out" the overall visual effect of the wheels.

I downloaded pix of a similarly painted '51 C-8 convertible some time ago. Color was close, if not the same as this car but with some differences in trim, etc. Notably: It had a single backup light on the driver's side, The lower molding (bottom of doors was painted, not SS, the top had the small glass backlight, underside of top was darker, had beauty rings with body colored rims (looked much better), did not have a front tag holder, hood fit (gap) was smaller on the curb side than driver's side (opposite here). As few of these as were made (fewer than 200) it would seem likely to be the same car. But odd things to have changed were it so.
Don't remember the site, but one of the pix shows other vintage cars, so might have been a dealer. Anyone know how many still exist?

Walt, was that the car that also had the inner grille bars that are usually black, painted cream, like the rest of the car? curious, because I think this car and that one are the same, as well... just seems to be too many of these floating around, in the same color for it not to be the same car.0 -

That's the one. Missed that in looking it over- I had copied because of ptd bottom trim. Car in earlier pix also had SS ? gas door trim and different exhaust tip- but all could have been changed along with a paint job.
Seems to me that they are likely same car, though that cream color seems to have been popular on convertibles. Do you remember where the earlier photos were posted? Walt-LA0 -
:)Did anyone else notice that this car has crank up windows? All the Commodore and Hornet Convertibles had hydraulic windows. Makes a person have to wonder if this car began its life as a '51 Super Six Cv. with crank windows. It also obviously has a vinyl interior which really detracts IMHO.:)0

FWIW, Although power windows were standard on Commodore and Hornet models, they could also be ordered with manual windows if buyer prefered.:)0 -

The VIN is 8A21288 which makes it a Commodore Eight. I suppose somebody could have switched the ID plate.0 -
As Dave S mentioned above, the car was most likely ordered without the power windows, especially if the dealer had had a lot of experience with selling convertables in the past. We certainly discouraged the power option in our dealership.

Although I'm sure some owners deleted certain items, I'd image the majority of those buying the top of the line models wanted them loaded.0

My dad had a 1949 Super Six convertible with power windows. Evidently the Supers could be ordered with them as well.0
