does anyone know how to get the new upper front suspension a arm or control arm pivot and bushings inserted in the a-arm? these are the pieces the a-arm attaches to the frame with with three bolts, and also the top shock mount. I have the early style forged ones used from 1940 to early 1942. had to cut the old ones in half to get out. the later stamped steel a-arms on my 46 pickup just slide right in, but not on these forged arms. do you have to seperate at the big rivet? can anyone who has done a 1940 or 1941 hudson know?? thanks!! you guys always help out!! these are going on my 41 pickup.

Hey Dawg, been there and done that. After the bushings are out, slide the shaft as far as it will go away from the slot clamp and take the clamp bolt out.

Mark where you would have to cut a notch on top and bottom so it will slide out of the slot. Then slide it the other way so you can get at the end near the slot. Clamp it in the vise and cut the notches with your angle grinder with a cutoff wheel in it. Then slide it to the other end and swing the notched end out of the slot. Notch the new shaft the same way and reinstall.

Screw the bushings in and you're good to go.
