carter 454S problems

after troubleshooting (and finding a couple of related problems, soft fuel lines, pin hole in fuel tank pick up, point gap out of adjustment, etc.) the high speed circuit on my carter 454S isn't providing enough fuel at the higher rpm's. i ordered and installed a carb doc overhaul kit. i am going to go back through it tomorrow. any thoughts? thanks. regards, tom

    Is this the WGD 2 barrel type carter? I'm better with actual carb types than I am specific part numbers, so forgive me.

    mark, the 454S is a single barrel used on the '39 to '41's . i figured out my mistake. i did not check the jet included with the kit. the one they sent was .003" under. the old jet showed no wear and measured out on size so i reinstalled and she runs like a dream now! regards, tom
