cruise night

I loaded up the grandkids and went to our Escondido Cruisin' Grand tonight, They all wandered off to look at cars and hear the bands and I sat with the '36T Terraplane. Man, I was mobbed by people interested in the car, folks of all ages. After we had dinner we drove back up my hill, we live about 10 miles from town and the car just purred. It was also my first time driving it at night. The head lights leave a bit to be desired, but I know that I could be seen and I knew where I was going.
Our HET chapter is all headed down to National City on Sunday for a big car show. The featured marqee is American Motors, so we plan to make a big showing of Hudsons. I will let you know how it goes.

RIchard-
Great cruise they have in Escondido. Used to try and plan by trips to San Diego so I could go take in the cruise with Pete B. Several good Italian Resturants there too. Well done event and super time always.0 -
Richard, great post. We had a local cruise night here in Yucaipa last night but my 55 Hornet is still in the process of getting the fuel system set up so I didn't go. Hopefully I'll be ready for the next show but I think I'll be out of town that night. I think October is our last cruise so I would like to make one more. Sounds like the T-plane did great, have a good time on Sunday, I'll be in Big Bear doing the Old Miners Day parade on horse back.

Hi Richard,
Its neat to learn you have so much fun with your car.
At the regional and national I gave a lot of demo rides to show the Electric hand and Vacumne clutch.
Automotive Restoration supply has 6 volt halogen headlamps bulbs, maybe you want to try them.0 -
Richard I believe i saw your car at the Auburn national. Super car and you are a great HET representitive.0

Sheldon, I am using 6v halogen headlamp bulbs and tail lights also. I can sort of see - LOL0

Took my '37 Terraplane down to the corner and back, used high beam ould not see much, turned on the fog lights and saw better. I am going to try the halogen 6 volt bulbs. I do not know how people drove well at nighr with the electric headlamps. That may have contributed to my Grandmother wrecking her new '37 Hudson Sedan, the car was totaled but they recieved minor injuries. When I began driving, my grandmother, aunt and uncle were always telling me how safe a Hudson was. Enjoy your Terraplane Richard. Arnie0

Decided that 105 was too hot for me to drive the Hudson last nite... but went to the local cruise anyway. Had several folks gaff me for not driving the Wasp... but AC in the burb was much appreciated. Hot temps kept alot of folks away... about 1/2 the normal attendees. Hope that Oct will be better... plan to be in NY during the event next month.0

Thank you Chuck, do you also have a '36T? I am trying to remember meeting you at Auburn. I had entered my 36T for the Albright Award. I didn't win, but it was great showing my new restoration to so many members who had helped me with advice, parts and encouragement over the 5 years that I worked on it. For those of you who saw it in Auburn, it has come a long way since then. It wasn't exactly finished then.0
