$89 per night Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance, or one night's charge is applied. Normally, one can cancel up to 6:00 p.m. the day of arrival. Since HET is considered a group, the 48-hours cancellation policy is in effect. Interesting, huh?0 -
3 hotels are next to eachother as I mentioned in another thread. "The Courtyard" hotel is supposedly $79 a night and the other two are $89 a night0

Just made my reservations, and the rates are $89 at the Marriot Center Point the host hotel. Phone # is 248-253-9800 if any one is interested.0

Thanks everybody - I'll make my res in the morning. Unless the phone melts first. (AC's out - again).

I made my reservation this morning and was told cancellation would be up to 6PM day of arrival.

All I told them was that I was with the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club. The nice lady told me the rate was $89 a night.
Obviously you got a reservation clerk that (1) doesn't understand English or (2) is out to lunch and hasn't been informed that we are going to be there. I made my res from Mon, leaving Saturday.
This trip I'm going to spend the extra bucks and rent a car. Only cost me around $300 to $350, from what I've been able to find.

Another HETer was given the 6:00 p.m. cancellation time as you were. The lady I talked with said that was incorrect in this case, for HET Club is considered a group and is subject to the 48-hour cancellation policy. Someone at the motel is probably right; I wonder who that is? Until there is further clarification, I believe I'll go with what the the lady told me if I have to cancel. We all hope we never have to cancel, but it can happen, as we well know.0 -
I just got off the phone with the marriot 6pm is what they told me but, If you're staying the night of the 18th it will cost you $100 for that night also NO SMOKING anywhere in the hotel(I usually go outside anyway so that isn't a big deal) the deal breaker is NO PETS anywhere in the hotel. If Ruby isn't welcome then I'm not staying! Does anyone know the names of the other HET discount hotels? THANK YOU0
-
Walt - The other two HET Hotels (within walking distance of the host hotel incidentally are The Courtyard and the Residence Inn. The Courtyard is the lest expensive at $79 a night. If neither of those let you have your pet....well guess you have to ask about an HET campground or next closest motel.0
-
I also made my reservation and was told that I could cancel any time before 6PM with out charge. Walt, I'm sure you can find a Hotel that will take little Ruby, or you could just stick her in your wife's purse.0
-
Thank You Aaron!
Ruby is to interested in what's going on(she doesn't hide very well!!)0 -
No motor homes and NO PETS - bummer. And I was planning on bringing my pet couger - but maybe they'd be afraid to say no if I did bring Sir Charles!!!

If you look at a satelite view of the hotels on Google earth maps there's lots of pavement around these hotels. I'm sure there's somewhere you could park within the vacinity. Perhaps not at the host hotel but close by, maybe moreso if you have a room there anyways.
Though I do wonder if the hotel understand that some people are going to be trailering their Hudson's in most likely.0 -

Aaron, don't know about car trailers, but the motor home bit, as I understand it, was NOT the hotel's requirement.
