Scrap it or complete it? Update and a question
I have located 3 54 Hornet Sedans within easy driving distance from where I live so I hit the road on Friday to take a look. Here's the question; One of the cars is allegedly a "1954 Hudson Hornet Special" but it is a 4 door. I was told that the Special is a two door. Did Hudson make a 4 door "Special". And if so what made it special?
Thanks,
Doug

Yes, Hudson made a 4 door 1954 Hornet Special. As far as what made it special...it was a plain-Jane Hornet and cost less.0

The Hornet Speical was announced in mid-year 1954 as a lower priced line with the 308 engine + what ever other Hudson options you desired. The main difference was that the car was trimed inside and out the same as the Super Wasp - not as much exterior trim and the checked seat bolsters in green or blue. It was available in the four door sedan, Club Sedan (2 door) or a Club Coupe. Probably at a $200 to $250 lower unit cost than the fully dresses Hornet series.
