36 Terraplane rear fender

Can someone tell me what year of fenders will fit on the rear of a 36 Terraplane. I have gotten mixed messages about 37 Terraplanes fitting or not fitting. Also if there is a difference what is it? Length, wheel opening?

My gut feeling is that very little sheet metal interchanges between the two years.

Here is a view of the '36 fender...

....and of the 1937. The wheel opening alone, is different.

My experience is that only 1936 Hudson or Terraplane fenders will fit a 1936 Terraplane. The 1937 was a completely redesigned car and although it looks deceptively like a '36, it is shorter and wider and almost nothing on the body interchanges. I may be incorrect, but I don't think so.

HI just thought I would let you know this is my understanding I was told that only 1936 fenders will fit because it is a one year car only rear fenders are the same on Hudson an Terraplane but the( front ones )are different if you have a Hudson you need ones from a Hudson if you have a Terraplane you need ones from a Terraplane.
  • Thanks for all the info. Does anyone have a 36 Terraplane drivers rear fender they can part with?

Check with Tom Pett in Illinois, he is in the HET roster. He has a number of 1936 parts and probably has a fender for you. PM me if you need his number.
