radio antenna knob removal

Hello:

I have a 49 Commodore with a roof mounted radio antenna. Can someone tell me how to remove the antenna knob inside the car? I've read all of the chat items but haven't found anything specifically. Where do you start? There's a small circle groove at the top of the knob, does that pry off?
