1924 Hudson Serial Number 576050

Good Afternoon. I'm hoping that someone will help me to identiy the Hudson I just picked up about a month ago. The title said that it was a 1924 Hudson but I'm not sure whether it is a Hudson or Essex. The serial number on the firewall is 576050. Thanks to all who respond. Rich

    according to my numbers it is a 1925 hudson. 1924 numbers are 500001 to 562016. 1925 are 562017 to 672227.there are no coresponding for essex. hope this helps.

    Spencer is correct - it's a 1925 model, specifically a 1st series.



    Hudson, thru the 20's into the early 30's used a Series system - 1st series cars were introduced around Dec or Jan of a given year; 2nd series were intro'd mid-year. These 2nd series then became 1st series cars at the end of the year for the next year.



    Since your car is around 13,000th produced, according to the serial numbers, and the 1925 1st series cars were introduced on Dec. 1st, 1924, it is possible that the first state it was sold in required it to be registered as a 1924 model - if it was in fact produced before Jan 1st 1925. Some states required this registration.



    Shipments of 1925 Hudsons totaled 109,840.
