Dist. I.D.
Hi all, can anyone identify what my distributor is supposed to fit. It is in a 1954 262 engine. It has a tag with IAT 4009A on it and I can't find that number in any of my literature. I want to buy points, cond., cap and rotor. Thanks in advance. Richie.

Richie, The distributor you have is for a 1951 6 cyl (except Pacemaker). The Autolite tag on it should be red if it is indeed a 51. In 1954 a 262 engine would have a distributor tag that should say IAT 4009B. and it is a green tag.0

It doesn't matter weather it's a IAT 4009, IAT 4009A or IAT 4009B, they all take the same points, condenser, cap and rotor.
Points: Standard AL-4652X, NAPA CS719A
Condenser: Standard AL-111X, NAPA AL869
Rotor: Standard AL-152, NAPA AL112
Cap: Standard AL-138, NAPA AL1060 -
