Headin' for the mountains
New tires, tuned up, washed and waxed--we're headin' out of town for a tour and a car show. I'll get some great opportunities for photos too.
Let the conventioneers have the damned city, we're headed for the hills.
I made the wonderful discovery that my flyrod fits perfectly in that little cubby behind the seat.:)

Looks great like usual. What did you buy for tires? Mine are getting old and looking at some new ones. Chuck G.0

I'd evacuate Denver if I were still living there, too! You are doing that in style! I love that car!0

I'm out'a here. Lol.
We've cleaned up the whole town, swept everything under the rug, I do highway construction, had to pull up all the cones and make believe we never have a problem, even rounded up all the bums and hid them for a week. Now we're ready for 15 to 17K press members to cover the convention.
I'll never figger out why, oh why, we're so damned insecure that we Denverites have to show the country how great we are! Can't drive anywheres anyway, houses all over the place. Gotta stand in line to go fishin' as it is.
Oh, sorry. Hudsons and Terraplanes--not soapboxes and politics. I DO feel better though.
Chuck--I went with the Diamond Backs radials. Good thing is they really drive nice. :)Grampa never had it so good. Bad thing is they want (and get) and arm and a leg. (Close to 200 ea, with tax) :mad:Ouch!0 -

Turn the tires around.
And, (file under NOW he tells me) as I recall there is a special paint just for tires.

Well Alex, while I admit to haveing a bit of redneck in me, don't think I want inside whitewalls on my "T", my truck ok. Done this many times "back when" with paint from Western Auto, no problems. Don't want to cause any harm so I won't say who,but got whitewall tire paint straight from the Mfgr. who has their own chemist. They even sent me a second batch, differant formula, same result, refunded the purchase so good co. Only thing I can figure is something in the tire compound on my particular tires to combat sun's effect Now be a good ole boy and tell me how to get this crap off without damageing the rubber of the tires !! After a beautiful little 600 mile or so round trip we are reporting back in!
The high-country loved us as much as we loved it. Everywhere we went folks would wave and honk, and absolutely pestered us silly at roadside stops.
Caught a few fish, won an award, and learned a little about vapor-lock!:)
My split manifold runs a little too close to the fuel line for the situation at high altitude. But a visit to a local NAPA store for some reflective heat-insulation tape seemed to be the cure as we had no problems after the "modification".

You're killin' me, Slim!!!0
