stepdown ignition switch

Does anyone know if there's a NAPA or other source part number for a replacement ignition switch for a stepdown ?



The switch in my coupe is "sticky", and usually I have to fiddle with it, and wiggle it around until it releases and clicks over to the on, or start position.

Undoubtedly, this is just due to wear in the tumblers, but a locksmith I contacted says he couldn't do anything with it without a new set of tumblers, which he didn't know where I'd get. This gets a little emberassing when you jump in your car to join others in a parade or tour or some such gathering, and just sit there fiddling with the key for what seems like an eternity when everyone else is sitting there waiting for you to get in line and wondering why you're not starting up.



I thought I'd be really clever, and go down to the local parts supply, buy a "close" example, that used the Briggs and Stratton key tumbler, and swap just that, but the KEMPARTS brand, Part # UL3, that I came home with, had a tumbler assembly that'd slip right in the chamber, but the little tab that fits in the slot at the back wasn't right, so no cigar for that brainwave !



This UL3 unit would work, because it has the right posts at the back for all the wires, but its held in place with a knurled "nut", that shows at the front, has no light, and no bracket underneath for the screw that holds the original unit in place, so I won't use this one.



Maybe someone has a really good working used one, or better yet a NOS one ?
