42 Sedan

I just bought this 42 sedan with the intention to use the parts for my 42 Big Boy Pick-up. But after getting it home and checking it over, I think it's in really good shape and to good to use for parts. I think I just bought another restoration project, I guess I had better keep looking for another 42 for the truck parts. Check out the pictures.

Yeah, if it is as good "under the skin" as it looks here, it's much more than a parts car. Looks like you could get it running in a weekend or two, and just sort of enjoy it! I don't know what you're missing on that '42 but so many things are interchangeable (on the pickups) with earlier and later models, that I'd think you could probably find what you want without having to strip an entire car.

Have you tried some of the "usual suspects" who advertise Hudson parts in the WTN?
  • I think so to Jon B. The floors need to be repaired. The motor turns by hand. The odometer reads 73,000. This car looks to unmolested. Brake and fuel lines look to be in good shape. I don't know the history of this car but it looks like it could be easy to get running. I have not tried the WTN just yet. But you are right there are some good sources I have not tried yet.

Looks very nice, and it will be great to have the pair up and running. Good luck with your projects.

:)"42's are few and far between, this looks prettu decent. Save it. I admit I am partial to the tudor sedan as my uncle had a '46 Hudson Super "8" tudor that he drove all over the country when I was just a bit more than a toddler. Save it. Have a great day. Arnie
  • Looks a lot better than some of the stuff I haved fooled with! Keep it together!!

This is what it will look like when restored, although this one is original with only 27k Miles on speedo, had 14K when I bought it in 1989

Allan Walrath, Amsterdam, NY just got this one on the road last year for the first time in 25 years. He's in the roster if you want to contact him.

Nawsir Ken, that's Verklier's Beast at Uncle Josh's 4th of July show 07. Here's Greens 37 Terraplane Doodlebug with her redone motor sporting a donated rod from a friend here on the forum and a good used cam from Bill Albright, and a $5 NOS Tillotson carb from eBay and another friend, running sweet as you please and hauling wood for the long cold Adirondack winter ahead.

It has a 4 Speed Ford tranny behind the Terraplane 3 speed, and a military Dodge rear end and home made wheels. 13 Speeds ahead and holes bored for more as Al Moyle the auctioneer used to say.
