36 H Hood fit question

In attempting to fit the two top pieces of my newly painted hood together onto the center chrome hinge, they bind up so much that I can't even get the hood to lay down. Anyone else have this issue? I hate to bend the metal too much.

    They should move easily without binding. You might try some silicon grease. Also, if you had the center piece rechromed, it may have become smaller on the inside. I had mine rechromed and did not have a problem with it. It is really a two person job to assemble it and then get it on the car without screwing up the paint. I seem to remember thinking that as I did it by myself!!!
