OK guys, this is a test for you and an opportunity for education for me. this looks like a 1957 Nash that has had Hudson trim added to the grill "Hudson Oval" and a Hudson trunk key chrome trim. I see it has a Packard engine, but is this a Nash with Hudson trip, or is it the last of the Hudson's to come off the line? My guess is a Nash with Hudson trim???

From the grille it's a Nash Ambassador. There may have been some trim interchange between the Hudson and the Ambassadore, but Small Paul will know for sure.

Boy, I'm not an authority on the 1957 AMC cars, but I fail to see any trim on this NASH that would be the same as used on the 1957 HUDSON.

On second look, the trunk trim appears to be from a '48-'49 Commodore, and the Hudson round medalion in the grill is from a Hudson Metropolitan.

Only thing Hudson on this car is the Metropolitan Hudson emblem in the grille. Side trim is all Nash. Looks to be a correct AMC 327 engine in it.
  • This is a 57 Nash Ambassador. I owned a 57 Hudson Hollywood for 4 years. I can't vouch for the engine, but the giveaway for me was the tail lights. Headlights don't match. I owned one of those that they put that wax on back at the factory, cause they didn't want it to rust being outside, as they didn't know if they could move the last of the Hashes.

When I saw it I was dissapointed with all the crap over the beautiful beige paint job. When I picked it up it was gorgeous after a wash job.

You will see it in the next issue of the WTN. Lot of great memories associated with that car.
  • Someone somewhere has put several Hudson emblems on this Nash Ambassador. It's NOT a Nash-Hudson.

Photo in Cars of the 1950s shows Nash used a round emblem with their crest on it above the Vee in the '57 grille.... Perhaps someone couldn't find one and used Hudson - though would have been a rarer find yet. Rest looks Nash to me. Walt-LA
