a little recognition.....
I got an e-mail a month or two ago from the "media people" for the Route 66 Rendezvous car show asking for more info on my Hornet, but I didn't think much about it, but they put a picture of my car and a small story about the car, in todays 48 page "Route 66 Rendezvous" supplement to The Sun newspaper. They also have a picture and story of Doug Harder's '56 Hornet in there as well. He is from the San Diego area and drives up for the cruise.
Of course my head has swolen a bit, having my car as one of the featured cars, but I think it is really cool that out of the 1900 or so cars registered for the Rendezvous, two of the ten featured cars are Hudsons!
I have already gotten calls from two friends wanting to know who I paid for the publicity.

Congrat's - tell your friends...it helps to actually get out and drive the car from time to time so it gets noticed!0

congrats, terry, tell them where the nearest HUDSON DEALER is located, BILL ALBRIGHT0

Can you tell me how to get in touch with Doug Harder? He was at the National City show in August and I put a picture of his Hornet in our chapter newsletter and I want to mail it to him. He is not listed in the new HET Roster, so he must not be an HET member. Thanks.0

Hmmm, not being in the roster certainly makes getting ahold of Doug harder. Har de har har.0

I just watched "Cars" again (how many times now?). Still can't believe what a magnificent tribute that movie was to Hudson.0 -
Terry, I saw your Sunkist Hornet in the paper and knew it was yours. It was great to see a Hornet and Hash in the same paper paying tribute to the cars of the past. I hear there is going to be an informal rat rod show at the park where 4th and 5th split. Sort of a boycott of route 66 and the high entry fee's. I'll probably cruise over in the Hash and see whats happening.
Your car looks great.

Hi Harry,
If I remember correctly, your Hash was sort of at the cruise last year.... in the shop, near the corner! lol
I know a lot of people are discouraged with the cruise this year. I even helped host a stop on the Old Farts Racing Team's Second Annual Mystery Cruise this past Saturday, which was started last year, in part because of the dissatisfaction of the last couple of years Rte 66 event.
I honestly think that part of the reason they chose my car to feature, is because I was vocal about the high entrance fees and what appeared to be a lack of organizing/managing crowd control during last years event, and they would like to keep me quiet, and this might help. I know they would like to get it under control, but maybe they should charge the spectators admission also, instead of over charging the car owners. With out our cars there there would be no show!
This will be my 17th year participating, but if they can't control the crowds enough so that we can actually cruise, this will be my last year there.
I will be on 4th street, near Sierra Way, behind the court house.
Hope to see you there!

Terry, I'm getting the Hash polished up for the drive over. This year it won't be in the transmission shop. I still don't think my generator is putting out enough power but I'll bring the jump box just in case I get behind on power for starting. What days will you be on 4th street? I think I still have your cell number in my phone.

I may join you guys for a day. I probably won't do the cruise but will park somewhere with the Hornet Coupe and walk around. Niels0

Harry & Niels (and anyone else that is planning on coming out)
I plan on being there Thurs and Friday nights from around 5:30pm until close. Saturday will be determined by the tempature that day. If it is cool (under 90degrees) I will go out early afternoon, and stay until around 10pm. If is is hot I'll probably get there around 5 - 6pm.
I'll be parked on 4th St., Behind the court house, between Mtn. View and Sierra Way. North side of the street, space 1338.
Hope to see ya there.
