1940 transmissino w/overdrive
Anyone out there know where I can get a rebuilt 40's transmission and overdrive for my hudson? Or just the overdrive. The overdrive I have has either the cogs or the bell are badly worn and are making a lot of racket. I know some of that noise is normal to an extent. But this goes beyond that I think.
If I could find someone who has the experience and parts to rebuild mine that too would be fine. Thanks

1940 o/d transmissions are hard to find and expensive. Your best bet is to contact Al Saffrahn in the Phoenix area. His email is al_saffrahn@q.com. His full contact info is in the WTN under "Member Services." He has new or as new parts for this tranny and o/d, and is the expert rebuilder. Good luck! :cool:0

Also, I think there are various NOS gears and internal parts for that transmission out there, in various Hudson vendors' parts. I can recall seeing them for sale, from time to time. When you find out what's worn, send out a mass-mailing (e=mail where you can) to the various WTN advertisers, giving description and part number. Don't rely solely on this Forum to find your parts, there are a lot of Hudson parts guys who are still not on the Internet.0
