car weights

I'm interested in taking the front fenders/grill/hood off, the motor and drive train out, front tires off(back tires go with rear end), doors off of my 2door sedan(brougham), seats out, interior trim and glass off the car. I check the weight listed for most stepdowns from 3300 to 3700 pounds(not a four door). Just wondering if anyone might know what I need to expect for a stripped stepdown car body to weigh? I could guess motor, drivetrain, wheels/tires, interior, fenders, doors, etc but I want to know closer than a guess. Not worried about how much the trim, rust and paint weigh. I figured someone might have put one on a rotator. Thanks, this is the BEST forum I've had the priviledge to participate in. Bob

    If you're trying to gauge whether a rotisserie will hold your car, why not simply buy one with a capacity for the overall weight? Or, you can pretty much guess the weight of the engine and then figure a couple hundred pounts for everything else, and be within the range. These rotisseries are built pretty tough.

    I saw one advertised for 800#, sounded too low, another for 1500# I guess is closer, but not sure its enough. Guess 2500# would work. Its just money, but hate to use it once and store it. I was thinking about making a cradle to swing it from side to side on a two axle trailer, pull to the sand blaster and let him leave it on the trailer and work his magic. What do you think?     Thanks guys, I needed a good laugh. I've put this project off long enough, want to get started, but first clean out the non Hudson related junk. And no backups, just forward even if its slow going.

    I can't seem to find a picture of one at the moment, but I've seen cars rolled over on their sides by using two long curved tubing pieces that were welded on to junk wheels, which were both mounted onto the same side of the car. My description probably makes it sound ridiculous, but I've seen 'em! Are ya good with a torch?

    Car tilters, I've never used one, I'd be interested to hear anyone experience using a tilter?
