2008 All California Meet

I want to encourage all HET members and Hudson owners to drive their hudsons to ALL CALIFORNIA MEET at San Simeon Lodge, San Simeon, Calif. Sept 26 & 27, 2008 Phone 805-927-4601 Fax 805--927-2374 I've only been there the past 3 years and have enjoyed every minute and alway hate to have it end. There is cruizing, swap meet, tire kicking, neet tales, great camaraderie, Hurst Castle up the hill, great fun, fire pit, Pacific Ocean and more. If at all possible make the trip. You won't be sorry. With all the Hudson's in Calif. it would be great to see 100 or more Hudsons show up. Even members from Utah and Arizona make the trip. Some even trailer there projects to share. These projects draw alot of attention. After all it's only once a year. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you there.     I'm trying to track down my generator problem, or regulator problem, which I now believe it is. It might just be a bare wire grounding out somewhere. Whatever it is my amp light keeps coming on. I thought I had it fixed as the amp light went out after I filed the points but after about five minutes it came on again though it does dim some when I rev the car. I'll have a new regulator tomorrow to try. Right now I'm going out to check my wires for any shorts. It seems as though once the regulator warms up it quits working. Anyway until I get it working I won't be taking any long trips. Bill A, who is your generator man? No one up here in Yucaipa seems to be generator savey.

    Bill, thank you.I knew you had to have someone who you trust. This is frustrating. I know I can put on a six volt single wire alternator and probably cure this problem but there is something about trying to keep this car original that appeals to me. Of course it may not really matter on things like alternators and generators, I have to refer to the experts on things like that.

    I won't be going this year Lee but I will next year. Of course I still haven't convinced my wife, (whose maiden name is O'Dell), that the Hudson can make the trip. Too many little problems to have her trust. By next year she will be fine with the trip.

    We'll be attempting the drive with the Hornet. Starting our run up the 101 at noon, Friday.

    Had to work Friday so I will be heading up really early Saturday morning and coming back Sunday morning.

    Just got back from the meet. I could only go today. Probably about 15 cars or so today. Will be more tomorrow I'm sure. I scored a set of excellent fender skirts and most importantly the stainless door trim for a 52 Hornet coupe for $25 bucks. A very hard piece to find and cheap too! Bad news, I hit a block of wood on the freeway coming home and lost my front left hubcab- good news, no tire or rim damage....



    Beautiful sunny day upthere- about 262 miles from L.A., so I drove 524 miles round trip for the day in hot weather. Car ran fantastic and I did about 70 mph avg each way. The Inn is less than a block from the ocean and gorgeous beach. Great time, wish I could have spent the night and tomorrow....
