Brake light switch

The brake light switch on my 46 pick up is mis-behaving. I haven't taken it off yet, but it dosen't look like it's a repairable unit. Where can I get a new one?

It will come apart or the one on my 47 did. Gently bend the tabs up and care full not to loose the springs. Clean the contacts grease and put back together. Done the light and starter switch same way. Dont think you can run down to the parts store and pick one off the shelf.0

Try cleaning it first if that doesnt work you can order one from one of the street rod shops or Kanters auto supply for under $10.000

What type of switch do you have? Mine is the one threaded into the brake line actuated by the fluid, has failed once and I replaced that switch. Would like to see what you have so I could just clean it.0

The 47 original switch was mechanical. Not pressure.0

The switch on my truck is not attached to any brake line; it's a little inch by inch-and-a-half rectangle, monted with two screws, inboard of the M/C, with two wire connections and a spring-loaded plunger that rests on the brake linkage. When you step on the brake pedal, the linkage moves away from the switch, the plunger comes out, and the light (normally) comes on. It was working intermittantly, so I sprayed it with some brake cleaner. Now it dosen't work at all. I will disassemble and try to repair it, but I'd like to have one to put back on before I take things apart.
