    Ryan,

It's almost impossible to figue out a year with just that number. For example the 1923 Hudson Speedster serial numbers started at 210624, so it's possible that's the year.

More realistically, if you have a step-down then that narrows the search to 1953, more specifically to January 1953 (serial numbers 214590-221170).

Aha, --- thank you Alex, I should have been more specific with my question.

This number came from my '53 Convertible, but I was mulling over why the interior door panels appeared to be from a '52. I thought maybe someone had changed them over the years, but if the car was made in January, then there's a good possibility they were using up the last of the vinyl convertible panels they had left over at the factory, before switching to the different style for '53.

That lead me to wondering if I had a '52, that someone made look like a '53, or a real '53. Hence my question.

The car was registered new as a '53, and has all the '53 trim (hood ornament, grill, etc.), so I guess that settles that. The old traffic ticket a previous owner got that I found in the back of the glovebox also states its a '53, as furthur proof. :-)

    Another kink ironed out !!
