Who is the webmaster for Hudsontech?
Hello! I would like to contact the webmaster of http://www.freewebs.com/hudsontech/ but I can't find any contact information.
I would like to know where all of the serial number information that is listed there is from (in a library archive?) I would like to find out if the original documents might have more specs on a particular serial number, such as the colors/finishes it was made with, when it came off the line, etc.
Also looking for original documents from the 1930 lawsuit by Packard against Hudson. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

if you find the member, on this board, named "Hudsontech" click on his name, and send him a personal message.
Further, if you scroll down thru the pictures of the hudson factory, right to the end of the segment on the hudson motor car company, you will find the website owner's name and e-mail address for contact.
I could be wrong, but unless there is an original invoice, likely records that detail that kind of information were not kept, or detailed that far back, and even if they were, the survivability would be minimal at best. Who knows, recently there was an original invoice for multiple hudsons on ebay, and go figure, one of them was for a car that me and hudsondad got in the early 1990's.
hope that is of help.0 -

Good morning Sabrina. The person you seek is me!!! The information, on serial numbers, you can find at www.freewebs.com/hudsontech . Click on the Serial Number links at the top of the page.
Ahhhhhh - the name of the game is "read first, then post an answer!!!" The serial number info posted on the hudsontech web site came from a number of sources; Hudson parts books, instruction manuals, old car publications, etc. In the course of digging this out we found, at times one source would give one set of numbers, another for the same years a different source. For example the 1950-1954 numbers - some sources, even among Hudson sources, started every model off with -101. The numbers I posted came from a 1948-1954 Monthly Production Year chart. That source started 1948 thru 1950 off at -101; from 1951 thru 1954 the numbers were continuous.
What we finally did was if we could find at least 2, or even 3, sources that agreed we went with that. Not very scientific, but surprisingly it has held up rather well.
I don't have anything on the Packard vs Hudson lawsuits.
Hudsonly,
Alex Burr

I bet D.J. Kava would have something on the lawsuit. He has written many historical items for the WTN. The latest email address from the roster is.. HETdjksets@yahoo.com of course..drop the HET0

I would also suggest you take your search to the Detroit public library ... on-line version. In the past DJ has stated the archives there provide windows into the history of the American Automotive industry. Also if the suit was an infringement issue records could be located in US patent files?
Good Luck0 -

That's a logical guesstimate as far as a reason for the lawsuit. It was my thoughts as well, although, of course, I'm in the dark as well. It would be interesting to find out the details of any litigation, for sure.0
