Essex brought back memories
I took my unrestored but driveable 28 Essex Sedan to a car show this week end at Rolling Hills CA. The show proceeds go to the military families great cause..
But the point I want to make is we were overwhelmed by the response and interest there was in the ESSEX.... brought back memories to a lot of folks and was thanked by many for getting this car out so others could see a car that most have never seen. One attractive woman learned to drive in the Essex and told how she had to learn how to crank start it before her father would allow her to drive it. But just want to let the HET people know when you mention Hudson motor cars to the older crowd it brings back many memories and is worth the trouble to get the car to the show and let them see it. The Essex had a crowd around it all day. Really made us proud to see we were able to bring a piece of history out to the public and they really appreciated it.

The real moral to this is get your Hudsons out while you still can. Technology advances in fuels are producing gas that may, in the future, not be compataible with old cars.
Political pressures may also, in the not to distant future, outlaw the use of old cars, especially with the growing awarness of global warming and the drive toward "greener" cars.
Just because we've beaten back the waves of ignorance that have tried to get the old cars off the road doesn't mean we always wll.
So get 'em out while you can. Let EVERYBODY enjoy them.

Hello Wayne, it's great to hear that you drove your '28 Essex Sedan to a local car show. Here in So. Ca. there are show and cruises going on most of the year. Here is a great website http://www.socalcarculture.com/ that has dates and locations for shows. It has pictures of the lastest shows, great pic's, but seldom you see Hudsons, I have seen Lance's Pick Up and some other Hudosn's. As for myself, my '50 Hudson is down, so havn't been to a show for a while.0

Thanks Victor for the web site,
Just to clarify I trailored the car from the San Fernando Valley to Rolling Hills then drove into the show. Since I have only had the car a couple months I wouldn't want to drive that far yet.
If you go to (www.titangraphix.com) go to photos, select Rolling Hills Oct. 4, 2008 for pics of the cars. There was also a 29 Essex coupe custom rod there.
