Cooling system advice needed.

Hey fellow Hudsonites,

While we have been discussing a fellow members cooling woes I have had some myself. Since I dont have a t-stat I wanted to change over to put one in my 36T model 61. I have a bypass housing now for the head and need a compatable water pump to go with it. Will a 36 8 cylinder pump work ok on a 6 cylinder splasher 212? Found a rebuilt one on ebay at a good price but want to know if it will fit/work.

Also what temp/type of t-stat should I use?

Thanks as always,

TerraJeff

Should the Ebay one not work out, you might contact Dave Kostansek in Ohio, he would probably have a good idea as he rebuilds them and also owns a '35 T so should know the pump interchange back to that period.

36 thru 47 splasher pumps are/would be the same except for maybe for more fins on the impeller on the 8 cylinder, 35 and earlier are a whole new ball game, 36 and later mounts on the front of the block, which I am sure you already know.
