'41 Hudson takes on 1/4 mile at Indy
Went to the 12th Indy Classis last weekend to run the '41 in Pro class 1/8 mile. On Friday all we did was run time trials. To my surprise they were running the 1/4 mile time trials although Sat. eliminations were to be 1/8 mile. Was somewhat apprehensive running the quarter since I went with my high stall converter. What the heck--lets run it. First time trial Friday AM -- went 12.67 @ 102.48 mph --5000 rpm through the traps. Felt good. She'll be alright. Afternoon pass 12.62 @ 103.23 Not bad. Nite pass 12.72 @102.48. The nite air was a little heavy and the track was going away. Still I'm happy. Sat was warmer & more humid. First time pass 12.68. Were in the ball park again. Just as I was returning to the pits I spotted Ralph & company with their hudson. They just missed the time run. We sat the rest of the day and didn't get to my first round of elim. untill early evenning. Ralph had to go early but had a good visit. I dialed a 7.98 since that was my 1/8 mile time Fri. nite and weather conditions were about the same. Ran a camaro dialed a 8.30 so I got to chase him down. Well the Car ran a 7.981. I fell asleep at the lights and he won. Well--had a great time anyway. Hope this will encourage Chuck Vorse, Hudsonator, and Ralph to keep working away.

Randy - thanks for sharing, I can race vicariously through your stories
Tough trying to dial-in from running 1/4 times to 1/8 mi.
When I was bracket racing, I'd wait as the cars started to line up for staging to get behind someone with a faster dial-in than mine...that way I'd have a 50/50 chance to race someone faster - meaning they have to play catch-up!
I always thought bracket racing is eaiser to control if you get to start first!0 -
Randy,
Dave and I had a ball there saturday. Too bad I didn't get entered to race but those guys would tree the crap out of me. Besides too much distraction
going on in my personal life to concentrate on racing.
I do hope to get the PaceMaker out once more before the end of the year.
If that does not happen then next year we need to meet up someplace
within driving distance for both of us.
talk later,
Ralph

Thanks for posting the news, nothing I love better than seeing news from the speed kings of Hudsondom.
Thanks to Chuck for posting the pic.
I'm like Ralph, absolutely mired in life too much to make alot of progress - but news and threads like this keep the fire burning.
