How to get ahold of Dany at KGAP????
So, I sent Dany a check on 9/23 for 2 Twin-H shirts. He cashed the check on 9/26, but has yet to send me the shirts. I finally got a PM response on this forum from him over two weeks ago and he promised he'd send them the next day, but they never arrived.
He doesn't respond to my PMs on this forum.
He doesn't answer the PH# listed on his KGAP site.
He hasn't responded to an email I sent him 1+ week ago at the email address listed on his KGAP site.
I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, ans so I'm not ready to proclaim that he's screwed me over just yet. CAN ANYONE GET A MESSAGE TO HIM TO CONTACT ME, PLEASE? I'd either like my shirts or my money back.
No one likes to be robbed. This is very frustrating. If one of you that knows him personnaly would call him, then I'd be greatful.

I know Dany pretty well and e-mails are not the fastest way to get him. He will respond but it takes a while. I called him last week and one of his daughters picked up and put me right through to him. He was a little tied up and said he would call back and he did. For what it's worth, he works a full time job and is gone from about 4:00 in the morning until 5:00 or so at night. K-Gap is not enough to live off of so he has to do it on the side. Hang in there, he will come through.0

It seems like I've read posts of this nature before!0

I got my shirts. It just takes awhile. As Rob said, Dany works for a living and the K-Gap job is just for the love of Hudsons.....

FYI
Dany has come thru on all my requests in the past.0 -
It took me a while to get my shirts as well, but like always, they came through. I think I got my shirts a couple of days ago.0

I remember a Quote That Henry Ford had said (read it some where) when he was being “Bad Mouthed†**** Don’t Spell My Name Wrong*****0

Nov 8th and still no shirts. Dany cashed my check on Sept 26th. This is ridiculous.

I started reading posts on this sight because I wanted to increase my knowledge of Hudson cars. Many of the posts have been of great help, but many times, it seems like all there is to read is complaining about people whether just or unjustly. Lately it seems a few people have decided that KGAP is not doing its job and we are out to cheat our fellow Hudson members. I am here to set the record straight, because if I had my choice after all the negative words I would shut this business down and let the naysayers say what they will.
Since I am the one that catches most of the rude comments, let me fill you in on a few things. I am the one that answers the phone, processes the orders, takes them out to be boxed, I box 90% of all orders, then I do all the shipping and haul them to the post office. I then have all the paper work, product to order and pick-up, (some days that means 5-6 hours on freeway) and filing, emails and faxes to complete. On top of the above duties, I have all my normal duties, clean house, laundry, dishes, yard work, cooking, make sure 2 teenage daughters are where they are suppose to be, plus a 16 year old foster child who has court dates and therapy to attend along with a 80 year old mom who is in the final stages of Alzheimers. I try not to let the above duties delay orders or phone calls but it does happen.
In August, I decided even with all that have to attend to I would fulfill a life long dream and go back to college. This left the phone unmanned 2 days a week and a small delay for the most part in shipping. Most of our customers were understanding and supportive, others were rude and left posts on the forum that I am sure most of you have already read. Last week I decided to put my dream on hold and dropped out of college, since KGAP's reputation has been unjustly trashed.
Yes, there are things we need to work on to improve service but still we are human and make mistakes. I try very hard to go above and beyond the call for Hudson owners, and I know some appreciate it but others feel it is ok to sit behind their computers and spout whatever crosses their minds. Is there not enough bad things going on in the world, why do Hudson members feel it necessary to bash people and make rude and inflammatory comments?
Sincerely,
Kaylene0 -
I for one would like to add to this since I know the whole Spring clan. I can relate to what Kaylene is saying because when I was growing up at home between 1975 and 1988 my parents ran the business office for the Gull Wing Group. This is a car club dedicated to the Mercedes 300 SL's built between 1954 and 1963. We not only handled parts but also the club newsletter. It was a major job that my parents, my brother and myself all had to pitch in on everyday. The club paid us 200.00 a month for storage and labor. 200 a day wouldn't be worth it. What Kaylene is describing is exactly true. If it was a full time business then one should expect prompt immediate service, but when it is volunteer, it is a different story. Not that K-Gap isn't a profit business but reproducing parts for Hudson's is not something one could live off solely. For what it is worth, we are lucky to have K-Gap. They reproduce parts that we would all be out of luck with out them. When we decided we wanted out of the Business Office in 1988 the club had to split the parts and newsletter since no one person/family would take it. So I for one understand all to well what the Springs are doing. Lastly since I know the whole Spring family quite well, you will never see nicer more dedicated people in your life.
Kaylene go back to school. An extra couple of days here and there to get our parts is no big deal. We'll live0 -
Kaylene,
As I looked back at this thread it seems that most who responded were supportive of the efforts that you and Danny put forth for the benefit of Hudson club members and Hudson car owners.
This forum has but a few that are worthy of "jackass" status such as
Willy74 is. People like Willy74 will never be satisfied with any level of service.
Please disregard the likes of them and continue to provide your valuable service when you can.
Hudsonly,

The Springs have done a great job with K-Gap. They are not retired, and have full time jobs and family to deal with. This parts buisness is mostly a service to keep our Hudsons at their best. If someone has a problem, call them up and it will be taken care of . Don't whine here ! Dave Kostansek and others have gotten out of the parts buisness for this very reason. Larry at Clifford's has had toughts of it also. Don't ruin it for everybody else!0

First, I have had Business dealings with Dany Spring before and after they aquired K-Gap and always received what was requested timely. I also found their work very professional and was elated when they aquired K-Gap knowing that the Family had long relationships with Hudson. I read of a few delays previously on this Forum because of trying to operate their new Business part time while balancing full time Jobs and personal Family concerns.
At that point I thought we might all realize that K-Gap's delivery at times may become a little longer than the previous Owner was able to accomodate. All of us restoring our Hudson's experience delays all the time (Body Shop delay, Upholstry delay, Machine Shop Delays, etc), and we usually get by working on other areas of our vehicle while waiting.
Most importantly, I really dont think this Forum is the place to bash one another especially our own 'Speciality Business Supplier' that we cant do without.... Think about..Not being able to obtain reproduction Parts anymore...
Hopefully, Kaylene will return to College and K-Gap perhaps consider communicating that their Delivery may occassionally have delays until their situation improves.
Going foreward, knowing delays are possible, maybe we should try ordering things a little ahead of when we really need them whenever possible to assist them during this period.0 -
Kaylene, let me start with saying you guys filled my order quickly and I have no complaints. Working in a service business I realize you can't make everyone happy unless you are willing to roll over and let people walk all over you.
On the other hand I understand the man who ordered the shirts frustration with not being able to contact anyone and once he did getting a promise of shipment that wasn't fulfilled. I don't know why his order wasn't filled in a timely manner. I think he may have just fallen through one of those holes that show up when we try to do too many things at once.
Please don't stop doing what you do. Understand that if you had bought the shirts and they weren't coming you would be frustrated though you probably wouldn't post your complaint here. I was frustrated to get an answer that most HET companies don't support Hashes and posted that frustration, only to immediately regret doing so. We vent here because it's easy and because we hope others will sympathize with us.
All this is too much typing just to tell you that K-Gap does a great job, thanks for all you guys do.
