Hudsons at the AMC meet in Boulder City NV
Before the Laughlin show this past weekend, I took my Jet to the regional AMC meet in Boulder City NV. (Yeah I know my Jet isn't an AMC) Bill Brown's '55 Hornet and my '53 Jet were the oldest and the only '50s era cars there. What surprised me is that out of 36 cars in attendance, 6 of them were owned by HET members.
Hudson Jet - Matt Royer
Hudson Hornet - Bill Brown
AMX - Larry Daum
AMC Pacer - Danny Barnett
AMC Hornet - Richard Anderson
AMC Rambler - Gary Fowler
Here's some pics from that event...

Oh, my God!! Somebody saved a Pacer. WHAT is the world coming to?:D0

:eek:I like the Pacer. It was different. If GM had built the Pacer, they would have had a hard time keeping up with the demand for the car. It was much better than the vega or Fords Pinto. That is perhaps not much said. AMC was swallowed up by Chrysler, now GM may swallow Chrysler, ukkk, where does it end? Arnie0

Maybe we should introduce the Pacer owner to the guy with the welding torch who likes to make convertibles?0

Danny has four Pacers!!!0 -
My son wants a Pacer, at least he doesn't want an Aztec!0

If GM gets Chrysler, does that mean that by association we own Chevrolet Hornets? Chrysler owns the Hudson and Hornet names according to them...... I guess it would actually be a Hudson-AMC-Chrysler/Diamler-GMC Hornet......We could go to almost any brand meet in the states and be the featured BRAND!

I wouldn't mind owning the AMX, they were hot cars.

Me, too, Harry. O.k., I give in . . . it's good SOMEONE out there keeps up the Pacer image. (Just glad it's not me)0 -

Hey, I fully believe there's fun to be had in just about anything. It's your attitude towards life in general that really makes the difference and I firmly believe in such. Too bad you didn't have Queen blasting at about 80db. I think I'd have to keep it in the CD, er, make that 8-track, ready and waiting for just such an occasion.:eek:0 -
Well - Once it is beyond driving, two or three tubes of sealant and you've got a VERY Large fish tank...
And who knows, you just might get more miles out of it that way, anyway.:rolleyes:0 -
Matt, Nice pictures. I like the wire wheels on the Hornet. Makes it more sporty, if a Hash can look sporty. When I was a teenager, I drove a 51 Hornet and was teased about driving a bath tub. Then as a young man in my twenties I drove an AMC Pacer wagon. I was teased about driving a fish bowl. I then bought a 69 Corvette convertible. I don't remember being teased about the Vette, except from Mustang owners. But, I could always find my cars in the parking lots!0
