Web advice needed!

We have had a Hudson-specific photo album site for several years at MSN. Now, MSN is closing it's 'communities' site and we'll be losing the page early next year.



Since it contains hundreds of Hudson-related photos that you all have uploaded, I took MSN's advice and transferred all the stuff to a new, free, community webpage site called "Multiply". The new Hudson photo page's location is now http://hudsonpix.multiply.com/



Here's the problem:



I neither understand, nor have time to study, how this new page works. I have no conception of how to move around in it. To me, it looks very confusing. Is there anyone out there who understands this new web service and how to use the existing framework to make the browser's experience there, a rational one? If someone could give me some tips, maybe I could start to set this thing up in a pleasing and useful format. As it stands, it's simply a jumble of unconnected "stuff"!

    Jon - the only thing I noticed is that some of the pictures are loaded by group - so that when you click on 1 thumbnail you get to see all the pictures in the group...

    But some like Sarah's that load on the first page only loads the single picture, and not by group...

    Once that is straightened out - the site is pretty simple, although I haven't joined yet to load some of my own pictures.

    I'm totally confused by the page set (if there is any!). Why (for example) can't I set it up so there is an "entry page" where I can clearly state the name of the page, an introduction, and an easiliy-followed table of contents that will lead people to the different sections.



    You say that some of the photos are loaded by group. Where do you go to find these grouped photos? On the old photo site, you could go to a place called "Pictures" and then run through a listing of the different photo albums, opening up any album you liked.



    I'm scratching my head on this one!

    I've tried to clean up the page (don't need "blogs" and "smiley faces" and "music" and other stupid and irrelevant stuff), but I'm still faced with the fact that all the uploaded photos seem to be jumbled together in a random way that is completely user-unfriendly. Can anyone discover a way that these can be sorted into albums, as was done originally at MSN?



    Barring this, does anyone know of a free website that would lend itself to peoples' starting their own albums and grouping their photos into these albums?

    Have you tried the Help button on the bottom right of the page? This takes you to extensive FAQ listings. There is also a "User Support Group" you can access at the bottom of the FAQ page.

    Why can't the we use this site. It has a photo gallery and it is free, I think for groups. I have downloaded all my restoration pictures to it and it also makes it easier to post pictures on this forum, you do not have to resize them it is automatically done for you. I am sure the administration would work with us to group the pictures and categorize them.

    There is even a category dedicated to the Hudson Essex Terraplane automobiles on their now. There is also a search function if you are looking to a particular year, model, or individual.


    Who hosts the HET Club Web site, Is there enough space there to handle a large photo gallery?

    Just a thought.:)

    have you ever considered photobucket.com. my wife uses it for her photographer business. different customers different albums all free
