In Australia we have Christmas decorations hanging from our trees.

This is (was) a 1938 Hudson 8 Cylinder Ambulance that will soon we hope under go a full restoration and bring it back to it's former glory. It was used in one of our country towns here in New South Wales. Another unusual Hudson saved.

    I'm trying to comprehend this.

Are we looking at an automobile which is hanging from a tree?

What is the purpose of this?

Also, is this one of those vehicles that was pictured in the WTN article of a year or so ago, about Australian Hudson ambulances?

    Uh . . ..

    Uh . . .

    Wow.

Ummm, o.k. Car pics don't normally "stump" me, but . . . let me stab at a guess. You hang the cars from the tree before you start the restoration to . . .

Nope, too complicated. Let me take a more educated guess:

This tree grew up in the middle of an abandoned Hudson and stayed there so long and got big enough it lifted the car up off of the ground. In other words, the trunk actually goes up through the middle of the roof.

    Right?

No the Tree is an available Hoist and very innovative. I have done similar hangings from my garage rafters and large old swing sets

    Ol Racer has it right.

A one man unloading from a truck or trailer . I rarely have anyone around to help and have often used the beams in my garage/barn to unload roll cages, chassis, bodies(auto).

That pictures lends a new meaning to the phrase. "Shade Tree Mechanic".

Hi Les---Long time-no see. Mamoth undertaking. Please don't forget to update the 38 engine rods with the #157369 rod which does not incorporate the poured shoulder on the sides.---Cliff Minard.

Silly me. You know in the land of live and post oaks around here, there isn't a tree large enough to use as a hoist . . .
