Old Town in Florida
Hi everyone,
My wife and I and our teenage daughter and son are vacationing here in Orlando, Florida. First night here we were at a restaurant and over heard some people talking about Old Town in Kissimmee and it being a saturday night they were going to look at the old cars.
I asked them about it and we ended up going as it was only about 2 miles away. Old Town is a replica old town with lots of stores selling lots of touristy junk. BUT the locals have an 18 year old tradition of coming with their old cars every saturday night and show them off. Then at 8:30 they parade through old town and then either go home or hang around some more. Several bands play 50's and 60's music through out the evening. I talked to several people who come every sat night.
There were about 80 cars the first Sat night and about 40 last night as there were a few clouds in the sky. Saw a 54 Hornet coupe there...green with power steering and brakes and A/c.
All in all a very enjoyable and free way to spend a warm evening here in Florida.
Have any of you been to old town or even better , brought your Hudson to Old Town? Any ideas as to who's green hornet coupe I saw?

Although we live fairly close to Old Towne and have been to the cruise on several occasions. We never got to drive our Hudson through the parade. At the Fla national, we were next to last in line when the Hornet stock car #6 broke down in front of us. By the time we helped push it aside, we were too late to participate. The OB chapter has been there on a few occasions. It's a "must do" for car enthusiast visiting the Disney area.0

Joe (the green 53 coupe that was there) makes it over to Old Town whenever he can. The night you were there he was giving me the grand tour. I have been there a few times, but this was the first time that I got to ride around in Joe's Hudson. By the way, it was the only Hudson at the show, and took first place in my heart. Folks down Orlando way are lucky to have such a fine venue. As Joe and I walked around and spoke with a few of the multi-mix cars owner we could not help buy fall in lust/love with several of the cars. We ended the evening, just before the cruize, speaking with a gentleman that had two Chevrolet convertibles at the show. A 58 and a 59. If you are looking for a place to retire or to simply enjoy a Friday/Saturday night; do not miss Old Town. I do have to say, it is a long way from, what is now winter, here Somewhere West of Salt Lake... That's Utah....:)0

I was over at Kissimee Friday night. I drove over from Lakeland and watched the Shuttle take off and then cruised thru Kissimee on the way back. I just moved to Lakeland and when I get the Hudson here from Texas will take it over some Saturday night and make the cruise. Hope to see some of you guys over there.
