Jet Set / JetSetter Fall 2008 Issue!

Sarah Young
Senior Contributor
JetSetter Fall 2008 Issue is ready for mailing. Are you on the mailing list?
The “Jet Set†was formed in 1999 as a special interest group of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club, operating independently of the club similar to a chapter. “The JetSetter†is the newsletter of the Jet Set, which will be published quarterly and mailed to all current members of the Jet Set. Current donations to the Jet Set are established at $6.00/year to cover costs of printing and mailing. The year runs from July to June, coinciding with the National meet. All members who have made their donation of $6.00 are considered to be current until the next National meet. Any person who owns, aspires to own, or is simply a dedicated fan of Hudson Jets is a worthy candidate for the Jet Set. Complete Jet Jotter.
If you haven't heard the rumor, beginning with the current Fall issue, the JetSetter is now being brought to you by a new editor, Sarah Young. I’d like to take a moment to thank the previous editor, Ted Wilming, on behalf of all the members of the Jet Set, for his time and dedication in bringing us Hudnuts such valuable information.
As with life, transitions are made easier with the help of people you can rely on. Editors rely on material they can do just that to… edit. In order to keep the JetSetter fresh and afloat, I encourage everyone to put in their two cents.
Complete the Jet Jotter or send an email. If you snail mail a Jet Jotter and are including photographs, please send crisp, clear photos – enlargements preferred. (Photo will not be returned to sender unless requested.) Attaching a digital picture to an e-mail is a preferred method to ensure quality.
Need to mail in dues? Please complete Jet Jotter/Membership Form and mail to Sarah Young at address provided on form.

I only received 2 issues in 3 years, not too good of a deal for $18 !0

I sent a note to Ted as I got his contact in the WTN. It was some info and pics of a Jet I was considering purchasing and I never got a response back. I was looking for some input as I am not that knowledgeable on them. I managed to get some others inputs and made an offer. I don't know if it will be accepted or not.0

Congratulations on kick-starting the Jet Setter, Sarah. As a past chapter newsletter editor (20 years, for two chapters) I know what a thankless and draining task this can be. Yet it returns your efforts in terms of satisfaction and of knowing you're providing fellow enthusiasts with a helpful resource and a clearinghouse for much-needed information.
I think your policy of offering to extend the subscriptions of those who have already paid, is an excellent goodwill gesture. Best wishes for a successful venture!0 -
Good deal sarah! Glad too see you take it over. If you need any help, you can count on me.

I joined the "Jet Set" at the Auburn IN National. To date have not received a single issue since joining. Ted did send me one issue before I joined by reason of my taking over the Jet (all) registery.

The JET SET, for whatever reasons, has been a neglected group for some time and I apoligize for any shortcomings. Kindly remember I am new to the position and am making my best efforts to revive the group in an efficient and professional manner. I am committed to making the Jet Set a fun, functional, and infomed group.
We are still in the process of transitioning and I have not received any previous information such as the membership list, dues collected, etcetra, as of yet. However, I felt Jet fans had waited long enough. The purpose of creating this thread was a shout out to those who don't want to miss out. If you have constructive criticism, send me a personal message or e-mail so that I can address individual concerns appropriately. Please let this thread be a place to brainstorm positive suggestions for the healthy future of the Jet Set.
ALL RECIPIENTS of the Fall 2008 newsletter will note that below the return mailing address will be a reference stating "Membership Expired, Please Renew," as I'm not yet aware of your actual status. When I receive records from the past editor, or if you've recently renewed or joined, your status will be updated on the following newsletter.
On a final note, please keep Ted and his family in your thoughts and prayers, as he deals with ailing health.
Hudsonly,

Yes, a pdf version will be available for those who request that option. I also plan on making a JetSetter CD available with pdf back issues. Instead of using just the black and white copies of the original newsletter, I'm hoping to update those with the color photos that were forwarded to me from the previous editor.
Thank you for the feedback, guys. I'm looking forward to the next issue as well.
One thing I'm missing: Fall 2002 / Winter 2003 Issue 8. I have the outer section which has pages 1,2,7 & 8, but the inner section pages 3,4,5 & 6, I do not have a copy of.0 -

53" Super Jet
And a bunch of Crosleys:D0 -
I'm preparing the next mailing, JetSetter: Inauguration Issue, which will be postmarked January 20th, and wanted to extend another invitation for those who missed out. For convenience, the $6.00 membership can also be paypaled to me at HETsarahdyoung@comcast.net (drop the HET). Also, if you'd prefer to have your copy e-mailed to you and NOT receive a hardy copy by mail, the JetSetter is also available in PDF format upon your request. (This is a GREAT option for those outside the U.S.!!!) Dues will still apply and support exclusive JetSet perks I'm working on.0

Great stuff Sarah. I prefer getting the full colour JetSetter pdf myself as you can really experience the colour in full screen Jet-O-Rama Vision which is just outstanding in my book.
Great work.....Paypal was really convenient for dues....0 -
Dues sent. Thanks for all you do, I know it's hard work!0
