1939 Hudson Production Numbers

Can anyone tell me how many 1939 Hudson, Series 92, 118 inch wheel Base Convertibles (VIN 927842) were made?:rolleyes:

    Unfortunately Hudson did not leave us with production numbers for years prior to 1946.



    Now, that said, I've been rooting around this stuff for over 30 years and it was only within the past few years I came across production figures from 1946 to 1954. So, somewhere in someone's collection earlier figures may be available - they just havn't turned up yet.



    Among the production numbers we've found are a 1948-1954 breakdown my model, ie, Super 6, Super 8, Hornet, etc, by year.

    We'll never know how many were made, as Alex says, but what matters is how many still exist & having had a model 92 convertible & researched them, I can tell you that less than a handful are known to exist.

    Original 1939 production 82,161 --- Known HET survivors in 2005-2007 roster - 75 cars..... Convertible. priceless. LOL but the roster says 6 convertibles but onlly 2 are positively ID'ed as Model/Series 92

    As per the 1939 Hudson Registry there are 3 92 series ( Hudson Six)

    Brougham Convertibles.The green one in Ca. for sale, #9218691

    Brownie's ,#927842 and mine ,#9252796.

    There are also a number others coupe convertibles registered from other series.

    There is also some infomation in the registry correspondence dating back before 2000 stating that there was a 39 convertible body that was " parked by a bulldozer" in Newcastle Wyo.It would be interesting to see what happened to it.
