Is KGap the source for all the rubber bushings, tie rod ends, etc. to do a complete rebuild of a '53 front suspension ?

If not, where is everyone getting their parts to do this job? I can't seem to find all this stuff in the KGap catalogue.

  • K-Gap has some bushings and snubbers, but no grease seals for tie rod ends and king pins. You usually get those together with new suspension parts.

K Gap only supplies the rubber anti sway bar bushings and link bushings for the front. If you are referring to the upper, lower, inner, outer control arm bushings, those are threaded metal bushings and must be sourced thru vintage suspension parts suppliers or other HET members. Ditto for King pin sets, center steering bearings and pins, etc.

Aha, yes, I have all the sway bar stuff from KGap, but couldn't find the rest of the parts in their catalogue.

Bill A, are you on here ? Do you have new parts available, or a source for same?
  • Look at Dale Coopers site he has the rest of what you need.

I should have thought of that -- Dale is a class act, and I think I even have a catalogue of his somewhere.

Off I go to the garage now to find it ! :)

Oh yeah --- phoned the local NAPA today and asked for An MC3081 master cylinder. They didn't have one on the shelf, but said they'd have it for me by morning -- so that didn't seem to be much of a problem.

    We'll see what arrives tomorrow.
