Does anyone have a source or part number for a stepdown distributor vacuum advance. Apparently mine sprung a leak since the last time I drove it. Thanks.
Also,if Dave K.,does have it,you can send it to Daytona Parts Co.,they will rebuild yours. It comes back new and priced right. DPC ph.# is 386-427-7108.0 -
Make sure you have your distributor model number handy when you call dave. there are several different configurations of vacuum advances. Many distributors have been swapped around over the years and you can't always be sure the one in your car is the original. I have a '54 308 distributor in my '49 262 and it is very different than the original.0

walt's garage-53 wrote:The main reason vacuum advances go bad is because when engine is shut off, fumes settle in the line and turn back into gas which eats the diaphragm. Early Chrysler cars had this problem and would blow the distributor cap off. To correct this problem make a new vacuum line and over the cylinder hear make a U about 2 inches up and this will stop the problem. I do this to all Hudsons that I work on. Walt.
That's a good idea Walt. Thanks.0
