Anyone know where I can get a set of blueprints or specs for the 37 Hudson Terraplane PU Leaf springs?

I have tried Eaton, and on a second call, they told me they didn't have any info for this year Hudson to spec the spring build for.

    I would guess the rear springs would be the same as the '37 cars except for few more leafs. I dont think '37 Trucks were rated even 1/2 Ton at max....

    I would ask Eaton if they have the ' 37 Car specs' then go from there unless someone posts the length from the front & rear eyes to the center bolt as well as the number of leaves & arch.

    Actually, for 1937 there were two basic models of Hudson Terraplane Pickups, one rated at 1/2 ton, and the other rated at 3/4 ton - I believe chassis models 70 & 78 respectively... One could order them in various body models as well -

    - The 'bare' chassis (no body panels, cab or bed);

    - Chassis with cab (i.e., no bed);

    - and the 'pickup' (full body, cab and bed)

    In addition to the above, there were other commercial types available as well - Utility Coupe, Utility Coupe Pickup, Panel Delivery, and Station Wagon (a 'woody', which was actually considered a 'commercial car')...

    Reference for this was found on HudsonTech's web site, as well as being available in various other publications, to include the Butler book.

    My virus program will not let me access the Hudson Tech site. It is reported as an attack site. ??

    I've got a copy of the Factory Service manual (for at least '36) and I know that I've seen leaf spring specs in there. I don't know if it has truck-specific springs, but I can take a look and post the info on Monday if nobody beats me to it.

    I don't know what's up with the HudsonTech website, but I just went to take a look at it and it wanted me to download some new ActiveX object, and it wouldn't take no for an answer. The web address that said I needed to update the ActiveX was great2008x.com - and I had to kill the browser in order to continue on (I'm using FireFox BTW). FYI in case anyone else attempts to try.
  • I visit the Alex Burr Hudson web site often along with the links within with NO problems what so ever. I have Norton as my protector and no type of warnings have been detected and will continue to use it. Just my 2 cents, Ron

    The information I have on '37 Terraplane commercial rear springs is:

    15 leaves, short end 26-1/16", long end 26-9/16", Free Arch 4-3/4". Hope this helps.

    Geoff.

    Well, looks like Geoff has better information than I've got. I don't know if this will help or not, but here's the information I found listed in my manual (covers '34 - '37):

    Spring Type - Semi-Elliptic (front & rear)

    Length (front) - Terraplane: 33", Hudson 6 & 8: 37.5"

    Length (rear) - 52.5" (all)

    Width - 1.75" (all)

    Number of leaves (front) - Terraplane: 9, Hudson 6 & 8: 10

    Number of leaves (rear) - 10 (all)

    Judging by the serial number "decoder" given in the beginning of the section, I think it applies to Terraplane Commercial/Deluxe/Super, Hudson 6, and Hudson 8 Deluxe (122" & 129") & Custom (122" & 129"). The book doesn't list the pin location or arch height, though.
