A cut-pile carpet is correct for all stepdown Hudsons.0

For early stepdowns that is correct. Dave's question was "what would be period correct" carpet for a stepdown, which would be cut pile.0 -
Front carpet became standard on all Commodores & Hornets for the first time in 1951.
