This is another interesting post with Hudsons in the back ground of the pictures. More curious to me is the sale is posted in Chicago, the back ground looks very much like the same location as the 38 Hudson Terraplane posted earlier today... Jim Harmon's in Banks Oregon.

Is this the same locaton? As I said curious.

Anyone know if this car was sold by Jim to a Chicagoan who is turning it for a buck?

  • Anyone can post to any location. I assume it helps to increase traffic.

  • Thanks Dave...
  • Alot of these guys on Craigslist post thier cars forsale in different cities. Washington state and the PSW seem to produce a good number of these project Hudsons. I understand there was quite a good density of Hudson dealers in this area.

I've approached this seller twice in the past via Craigslist for details of the car and he twice said he would forward me pics. He said he was selling it for a friend or some such story. He would not volunteer where the car was located. I moved on.

Yes, this is Jim's car, and he still owns it as of a week or so ago.

Yes, Jim's car. There's a fella trying to sell it FIRST to make extra money on it, while Jim is trying to sell it simultaneously. Better to contact Jim first.

I saw this on craigslist on the 17th and e-mailed the seller J Riggs and he e-mailed me about 30 pictures of it and a short video of it being driven into the barn. He said it was pretty solid. Richie.
  • The Riggs Boyz sell cars for Jim Harmon and others. They have thier own website.

  • I have driven this car many times - It drives well and is a solid car......... But not a "barn find". As indicated in other threads deal with Jim Harmon to get the REAL vehicle history.

So are the "Riggs Boys" connected with Dick Riggs? They have a lot of cars for sale on the website, and many sold Hudsons. Were those mostly Jim Harmon's cars? I recognized some of them. And Fred, how are you doing in the sunny southwest? So many questions. . .
  • Hello Mike, I'm not sure I've met ya before but I probably have at some time, I'm the one that used to help Jim around his Hudson Home for so many years. The two Riggs are not related, one hoards Huds and the other is a very skilled car spotter and helps sell fine autos. I ran into Dick Riggs at Jims place while up in Oregon on vacation and he bought lunch and we caught up on things since I moved to Texas. I encouraged Jim to sell that convertible while I was up there since he's so deep in Hudson metal----the buyer will get the best restorable Hudson he can find with that car.
