36 Headlight Lens P/N
What is the correct headlight lens P/N for a 36 Terraplane? I have the
Bi Ray Headlamp Lens with the number 12 on one and number 15 on the
other. I am sure one of them is not correct because of the pattern it projects
on the road. Should both lenses be the same P/N ? Also, is there any source
for these lenses? THanks, Howard

There were two different lenses used in '36 on the terraplanes. Up to serial number part # 114476 was used, which was the same as for the '35's. Then they changed over to part # 117706. Could be that you have one each of these. Just to confuse the issue there is also a different part number for Hudson 6's and 8's, so you could have any combination. why did they do that????

Howard, I am pretty sure that there is a left and a right, however I have not been able to figure it out either.0

1935 & 1936 used different headlamps, the '35 glass has a higher dome
(3") than the '36, (2") if you run your fingers over the top of the dome on the '35 you should feel a small nipple right on top of the dome, the '36 has no nipple, the '35 may also be about 1/4" larger in dia than the '36.... I have plenty of the '36 glasses in stock, these I have sold for 1936-7-8, BUT, the '35's are super rare, I had a 1935 Hudson & had a lot of trouble finding the right glass for that particular model Hudson, Terraplanes were the same as far as I remember. 1934 Hudson & 1934 Terraplane used different glasses in each model , one for Hudson, one for Terraplane, different pattern on both.
The above is applicable to the Australian models, but, I assume it would be the same in the U.S.0 -
Thanks to all who replied.
I have 4 " Bi Ray " lenses, all the same physical size, but there are slight
differences in the lens pattern and each one has a different number cast in
at the bottom of the lens. The numbers on mine are 12, 13, 15 and 26.
If these are a P/N and not a batch number or something else is there any
way to coorelate these numbers to the Hudson P/N 117706. The Hudson
Parts Book also says both left and right lenses are the same.
