Take a look at this eBay auction for rear spring shackles. $330? what the heck is going on with this. I paid $50 for a NOS set.

  • It looks like someone forgot to shop around first. It's really sad because it makes other sellers think they have to get that much for somethinig that isn't that rare. Maybe the buyer will wake up and back out of the deal.

I'll bet the one missing is the left hand thread. This means a bad deal. Walt.
  • Walt, it looks like the one with the left hand threads is missing the bushing. That makes the price even dumber. Maybe the buyer has extra left hand thread bushings laying around and just needs a shackle to match to them?

And here I thought that when it hit $70 it was too high!

My Gosh! I'm gonna clean out the sheds and scavenge that 46 Brougham and 49 Super Six in the woods. I've got these things lying all over the place! With all the bushings too. Maybe finance my trip to Pontiac, by jing.
  • Uncle Josh, that just depends on how many fools are left on ebay, I'm thinking you will do well. After all, someone else kept bidding until it got that high.

Ive found that Dodges used some of the same suspension and electrical parts as used in 1937 by Hudson. There are plenty of cheap NOS Mopar parts around. Regards, Barry
  • Guess some people have more money than sense.

Probably somebody new to the game. I know where a complete '54 Wasp sedan is sitting and $350 gets it. If nothing else, the shackles are probably ok.

Yup - Appears that at least a couple of people are missing more than a bit of common sense, and one of them may now be missing some $$...

Those are nearly always the ones with the missng $$$ . . . A fool and his money . . .
