i have scraped up the parts i need to finish the brakes on my 53 hornet. i am using a chevy truck star adjuster and shoe retainer at the anchor pin, looks like it will all work. i am having a time finding a grease seal. the parts place shows it to be a seal with a OD of 2.442" well that's oviously too small. it needs to be 2.492 at least. i found one that is 2.502 and it worked well but the rubber part in the center contacts the inner bearing. is this ok? all the other ones i have done had a little space. this is without it being drove down flush like i usually see them done. this seal is .025" thick so it's going to be hard to find a thinner one i would think. the shaft size is 1.6?? sorry i don't have the measurements in front of me. does anyone know what the correct size should be?????

The front wheel grease seals should be either CR 15960 or Nat'l 482253. Appears that the OD is 2.506 shaft size 1.593 and 1/4" wide.0 -

sorry. on my orig post i said it was .025" thick but meant .250". 25 thousands would be a pretty thin seal. thanks also for the offer on the leather lip one kenneth, but i think this one will be ok. thanks again.0
