Need help on Woodgrain on a 35 Terraplane

I have been asked to rewood grain the dash on a 35 Terraplane 2 door sedan. Can anyone provide me with some pictures on the woodgrain that was used on the dash and the color.

ALso was there wood graining on the window mouldings. ANy help would be apprciated. I am a Desoto owner and trying to helpout another club members.

    Could you state your approximate location? Perhaps someone (who frequents this forum and has a '35) lives near you, and could offer to let you inspect their dashboard.

    And, If you don't mind, please tell me how you plan to do the woodgrain. I am about to try a sort of "I think it will work" process tomorrow or Friday on a 51 and a 49.

    i have a '35 and to the best of my knowledge the window garnishes were wood grained as well. i have not redone my dash yet. some prior owner used one of those weird wood finish restoration kits on the dash and it looks horrible. i do have a NOS ash tray that is mint that has the original graining on it to give me an idea of what the finished dash should look like. if it would help you i could e-mail a close up pick of the ash tray when i get back in town saturday. regards, tp

    You can look at my 36, but it's buied under 2-3 feet of snow, so I s'pect it'll be April before we can get to it.

    One of the people responding to my request suggested that I list my location inorder that if there is an owner of a 35 Terraplane in my vacinity that I might be able to look at their car.
