With all the typos and lack of good info, these kind of ads always make me think the ad was written by someone whose English is not their first language and brings to question the validity of the ad.0

I may be wrong, but weren't some of these Railtons built after the war on leftover pre-war Terraplane chassis? Pete Booz will surely jump in here and set us all straight...
At $17,000, the seller probably knows what he has and isn't letting it go for a song. However, the bodywork on these cars would have wooden framing and unless the car's in tip-top shape, you would have a LOT of restoration work to do. And that's on top of the 17 grand outlay.0 -
Would be nice to see a few photo's. Wood is not a problem, you just need a woodworker;);)0

Russ- This person probably just went to thru the Los Angeles Unified School System.... according to their standards, he was a 4.0 student!0 -
I guess it's just a pet peeve of mine. That and I've heard of a lot of scoundrels lately on Craigslist.
Really though, if one wants to place an ad for an item in which they are seeking thousands of dollars, you'd think they would at least have the ad edited for correctness, clarity and spelling! Presentation goes a long way.0 -

Right, the ad is screwed up as the only year the Railtons were built on a Terra. chassis was '33, on the T8.
Yes, a few were built after WW 2 from parts left over from when they ceased production in '39 when England went to war. If it is one of those I was unaware any of them were in the U. S. (there are only 25 Railtons here - none were ever sold her when new) and as I recall all were sedans.
Ad certainly needs some clarification!0 -
