As member of AACA Hornets Nest Region, I'll be working traffic in Green field on Friday morning, and will be judging at the AACA car show field Saturday late morning. Come look me up! I'll have my grey '47 Comm 8 sedan there Saturday, in the Driver Participation Class.
  • Ol Racer, If you're coming for that reason alone , I have some advise
don't . This is largely a Ford Chevy show with the ocasional misc thrown in. I've gone the the Spring and Fall versions of this show for twenty years and you really don't find many old Hudson parts. Since you are in Pa. you might want to consider going to Doc's meet. They'll be more Hudson parts and a lot closer to home for you. There are plenty of other things you can get at Autofair like sources for restoration etc but again don't come with high hopes of finding much Hudson stuff.

Can't argue with Hudzilla's comment on liklihood of finding Hudson parts, and I agree the flea market at Doc's Meet probably will have more (I'll be there too). But Spring Auto-Fair includes an AACA National Meet on Saturday, and we've got 340 cars registered at last report. So one can at least smother any disappointments on parts while enjoying a bunch of nice iron on the show field!

Actually I do have family in Mooresville so I thought I would arrange a visit the same time as the large Auto Fair, but wont expect to find any needed parts.

Park, I will try to look you up Saturday.

Only thing Hudson I've ever found there was a Hydramatic Service Manual. And I didn't even see it till my buddy pointed it out.

But, that's NC car shows and swap meets in a nutshell. You may find a few trinkets here and there for Hudsons, but not enough to justify the entrance fee.
  • How much is the entrance fee? Days and Times operated? Thanks, Bob

Bob, Drive the extra miles and go to Doc's. You won't be disappointed..;)

Saving my money for my son's wedding, even though the bride's parents are paying for their part, some still comes my way(bills).

Just thought I would try to check the car show out, but tooo far from NW Alabama.

And I will say I worked for an hour on my stepdown Hudson today, to be sure this message stays here. Thanks for the info, appreciate it. Bob
  • I have been to this show a few times, both spring & fall. I have found a couple of rare HET parts. Like a 34H8 radiator shell & grille and 2 windshield frames for a 27 essex baottail, one had the posts still attached. I say, if you have the time and can go to enjoy the show and maybe you'll find something to buy as well. If you don't look for it, you may not find it.

  • I got a repair manual for a '37 Terraplane, from a literature dealer in the infield several years ago. Actually it was about 13 years ago! Man time flies! Only thing I ever bought there but I enjoyed all the cars and the Auction that was held on Saturday.

  • Was at the Autofair all day today. Kinda rainy and muddy. I found an inside door handle and window crank with the plastic washers-green ones- for my 46 p/u. Found a bumper that I may use on the rear of the truck also. Don't bother going on sunday unless you can get in free, Most vendors leave on Saturday. I may have a few extra vendor passes for Saturday. E-mail for my cell phone #.

If you happen by my spaces, stop and rest awhile! HHB 94-97,in the first turn.
