trim piece needed
I am trying to finish up the paint and trim on my 49 Super four door sedan. I am missing one rear stainless trim piece. PN 211380. This is the oval 5/8" wide by 44 3/4 inch long piece that mounts on the bottom of the rear quarter panel. Left and right are interchangeable. I would like to have a nice one, but I can straighten and polish a fairly poor one. Beggers can't be choosers..I tried welding two pieces together with no luck. I can shorten a damaged piece from a two door model though ! I have a fairly nice door bottom piece from a 48-49 Tudor/Conv to trade if someone needs it. Reply here, Email me at HETdwad1939@att.net drop the HET or PM me. Thanks, Dave w.

Ends in an hour-and-a-half.
Dave-
If you don't get this piece, e-mail me, I might have a lead for you.0 -
I looked at the ad again. I thought these pieces were '50 Commodore only? Bottom edge of fender, door and quarter. Shaped like the beltline trim on a Hornet, but narrower.0

Dang, I missed it. Just took a few minutes to eat dinner! I have to get my prioritys straight!0

I have a friend who can weld two together for ya Dave----ring me if you need to.0

I probably have what you're looking for. I've got a 49 4 door parts car. Let me check. It may take a bit, cause it's at my storage lot, not here at the house.0

I am still chasing down leads. Yours included.
The piece I had that i thought was a door trim for a conv or two door.. isn't. It was mislabled. I bought a bundle of used and twisted trim a few years back. it was the best looking piece in the lot and was marked "Two Door" Wrong.. It's just a front door piece for a four door.
I have one of those "Henrob" torches that is supposed to weld stainless. I gave it a try and carbonized the parts! I now know what i did wrong and hopefully i will be able to make one piece from two. Should have read the instructions first or at least gone on line and watched the video. "If at first you don't succeed, read the instructions". :eek:0 -
Ok, I went out to look at my parts car. The trim I have is 5/8ths wide but is 47 &7/8ths long. Must be different?0

Is your parts car a two door? I'm still interested though..:D0 -

Dave, Did you see the post above? New piece exactly what you are looking for.
I'm heading out to my parts car today, and will send what I have, but you might want to snag that one off ebay too?0
