Thanks Sam. Some day I will get the process down to post photos or I will buy a new computer with power and memory to do it all. For those of you who remember the 1936 Hudson Stratton Saloon by Coachcraft, London, England entered my show with some of the structural interior body work completed. Other than "cut to fit--paint to match" wood, it is complete. Most of the black areas you see in the photos is the new wood painted before replacing the metal parts. The interior floor boards are a combination of wood and metal. For those who hate rust (I am one of them) this is a great way to do a car. The wood is an easier rebuild than the metal. You might notice that the back seat passenger foot placement is twelve inches below the floor level--Would this be considered the first "Step-down?" The engine is running fine--started it up last week. The tranny is good and the new rearend will be in place next week. This will include new Hudson 8 rear springs and a rear end that should give a bit better performance? The steering is back in place but I still need to buff out the chrome and paint the wheel. The car will be black (fenders and top) with British Racing Green custom paint in the body insets (you can see the color in the firewall of the engine compartment. The interior wood is at a friends "wood restoration" shop and with some repairs, all is usable. My next update will most likely include a dash shot? That is it from here for now---:cool:
