Question on Hornet Special interiors
For the interior of the Special, how many different color schemes were there if any? My car had been reupholstered in vinyl by a previous owner so I have no clue what was original in terms of color. The original exterior of my car was a light blue.
Several of you have sent me pictures of your cars interior but they all look the same color-wise.
Thanks,
Doug

Doug - I believe you had 2 basic choices, fabric & leather. Oddly enough seemingly quite a few of the HS were in leather & you could have gotten a dark blue or green. The fabric was the same as the Wasp, checkerboard pattern, as I recall, either in blue or green.
One of my Hudson buddies had an extremely low mileage '54 HS brougham, green paint & dark green leather + Borg-Warner trans. - I stored it for him for some time & always thought it must be one of the rarest of stepdowns. He despised the BW tranny so eventually sold it.0 -
As Oldhudsons stated, the fabric interior was blue or green. It was the same interior (as well as most exterior trim) as the SuperWasp.0

Hi Doug,
I am restoring my Dads 54 Hornet Special. The Special was born at Hudsons end to use up parts. So sometimes you find weird stuff on them. For the most part they used wasp interiors in the Hornet Special. There should be a trim # on the right door post. Good Luck!!
